  • Description: MHA is offering an in-person Mental Health First Aid Training that will be held at the Community Service Building in Wilmington, DE. Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Mental Health First Aid teaches about recovery and resiliency – the belief that individuals experiencing these challenges can and do get better, and use their strengths to stay well.

  • Description: The Mental Health Association in Delaware is offering a in-person Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) at the Community Service Building (CSB) in Wilmington, DE. ASIST is a two-day in-person workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. During the workshop, you’ll learn how to recognize when someone may be thinking about suicide, and how to provide a skilled intervention and develop a safety plan with the person to connect them to further support. Please note, the training takes place from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm on each day and requires that participants attend both days in full duration. Registrations for these trainings are extremely limited and highly sought after. Please only sign up if you are absolutely certain that you are able to attend.
