Master Your Stress Workshop

Master Your Stress Workshop

The Master Your Stress workshops teach what stress is and how stress affects the body, mind, emotions and behavior. The workshops help the participants learn how to master their stress by learning the difference between good stress, acute stress and bad stress. The participants would learn how to engage their parasympathetic nervous system and understand how their sympathetic nervous system contributes to both wellbeing and dysfunction. They would also be empowered to choose techniques to counter the effects of stress. The workshops give the participants the tools and techniques such as meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and body scans. They are offered by the Mental Health Association in Delaware. They are an hour long and free of charge.

Older Adults and Mental Health Workshop

Older Adults and Mental Health looks at the particular aspects related to mental health functioning in those 65 and older. Individuals living to age 65 are expected to live an additional 19.4 years (20.6 years for females and 18 years for males). More than 6.5 million Americans are living with Depression. We will explore Major Depressive Disorder in Older Adults, Dementia vs. Depression, Medication in Older Adults, Physical Conditions that are risk factors for developing Depression, Suicide and Older Adults and several other categories. Come join us in our exploration of life after 65. The seminar is 60 minutes and free of charge.
